Analyst - Renewable Energy Technologies
**About the Role:** **Grade Level (for internal use):** 09 **About the role:** We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Analyst to lead and support cost modeling efforts—specifically focusing on batteries and wind technologies—within the Energy Transition, Sustainability and Services (ETSS) team. **The Team:** S&P Global Commodity Insights is the leading provider of Clean Technology & Renewables research and insight and is currently looking to recruit a senior analyst focused on batteries, energy storage and wind technologies to support its rapidly growing and successful team, which is located across various locations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. **Responsibilities and Impact:** The successful candidate will be keen to apply strong industry knowledge, as well as established and proven analytical and communication skills, realizing valuable relationships with existing and potential clients, and produce high quality in-depth reports to support the critical business decisions of our customers. Responsibilities: + Collect, manage and analyzed market data across technologies to track and identify trends key to understand the evolution of technology and supply chain. + Create high quality quantitative and qualitive regional and global market reports analyzing multiple clean energy technologies + Lead and maintain cost models for wind and battery technologies, focusing on LCOE, CAPEX, and raw material inputs. + Support broader modelling initiatives for the Technologies and Supply Chain team with ETSS. + Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop more granular and interactive modelling tools. + Support client requests by providing quick and comprehensive answers to questions about research findings. On-site and by phone presentations are regularly required **What We’re Looking For:** **Basic Required Qualifications:** The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience and advanced knowledge of the clean energy technology industry and strong modeling skills. Prior experience of working in a research analyst role is highly valued. + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field. + Fluent in English and Spanish + 2+ years of experience in cost modelling, energy systems analysis, or financial modelling within the energy sector. + Demonstrated expertise in calculating levelized costs and other financial modelling methodologies. + Good knowledge on batteries and wind technologies + Experience using modelling in Python, excel VBA, power query and data visualization tools + Proficiency in handling large datasets and building transparent, bottom-up cost models. + Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. + Excellent communication and leadership skills. + Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and effectively integrate team feedback. **Additional Preferred Qualifications:** + Familiarity with low-carbon technologies and global energy supply chains. + Understanding of policy and regulatory factors influencing energy markets. **About S&P Global Commodity Insights** At S&P Global Commodity Insights, our complete view of global energy and commodities markets enables our customers to make decisions with conviction and create long-term, sustainable value.
