The Fisher Scientific channel keeps science moving forward by offering over 2 million products and extensive support services to the scientific research, healthcare and science education markets. The Analyst Programmer crafts and develops software code. You will analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processes or to improve existing systems. Provide technical knowledge, system design techniques, methodologies, tools, and standards used in the IT and business environment.What will you do?Support current business applications within the entire ERP platform and functionality (IBS Enterprise ERP, EDI, WMS, Integrations).Develop and Maintain software documentation of applications (code, operation instructions & related applications) to enable other IT personnel to identify and correct issues that may arise in the execution of the application.Review computer system capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations to resolve if requested program or program change is possible within existing systemStudy existing information processing systems to evaluate efficiency and develops new systems to improve production or workflows as requiredImplement or modify procedures and/or processes to seek business issues considering alternatives and limitations, environment and desired resultsUpgrade system and corrects errors to maintain system as part of the IT Software Development Process after implementationEducationBachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience ExperienceExperience in analysis and programming in RPG for IBM iSeriesExperience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesStrong analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs Proficiency in RPG (all versions), SQL, control language, DDS, query Affinity with IBS Integrator, Transform, RXS, Python is a plusAbility to effectively work with a variety of different levels of the organization Excellent oral and written communication skills, English is required
