**Purpose:**
Scotiabank’s Canadian Equity Capital Markets team is seeking to hire an Analyst or Associate (depending on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications), with the primary purpose of bolstering the team’s execution capabilities. In this role you will participate in all stages of an equity and equity-linked transaction, from the initial pitch to the corporate client to the closing of the offering, with a focus on the syndication / execution side of the business.
You will be directly involved in the preparation of deal documentation, marketing materials, and the syndication / execution process. In addition, there will be exposure to the origination of new equity business, including the preparation of client presentations, financial modeling, research and data analytical work.
**What You’ll Do:**
+ Provide assistance with the execution of all equity and equity-linked transactions, including the preparation of syndicate materials, term sheets, press releases and other deal documentation
+ Prepare and update order books while in the process of marketing equity and equity-linked transactions
+ Assist with wall-crossing institutional investors and advise on target investor lists for transactions
+ Prepare and update marketing materials for Equity Sales & Trading on lead equity transactions
+ Assist in pricing and analyzing hybrid equity and equity-linked products, including convertible bonds and preferred shares
+ Perform financial market data analysis on an ad hoc basis, using both internal and external sources (including Bloomberg and S&P Capital IQ)
+ Prepare and update presentations for pitches to corporate clients
**What You’ll Bring:**
**Academic** **:**
+ A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
+ Proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
+ Related Investment Banking / Equity Capital Markets / Sales & Trading / Securities Law and practice experience is an asset
**Functional competencies:**
+ A clearly defined interest in Equity Capital Markets.
+ Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting and financial theory; and / or Canadian Securities Law and practice
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work, excel under pressure amid demanding deadlines and perform effectively in a team environment
+ Willingness to work extended business hours, including nights and weekends as required

**Work Arrangement:**
This position is an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work 5 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
