Within BlackRock Global Markets (BGM) in our Liquidity and Financing pillar we are seeking a Fixed Income Financing trader based in London. Our traders play a critical role in relation to alpha generation and cost minimization for a wide range of stakeholders such as scientific, fundamental and active products. They will partner with portfolio managers to optimize returns through a variety of trade types across a wide range of markets.
Responsibilities:
Daily Trading and oversite of the EMEA/APAC Repo book.Managing repo across multiple funds inclusive of Hedge Funds, Liability Driven Investment funds to US mutual funds.Responsibility includes, but not limited to, daily trading of EMEA fixed income sovereign and credit bonds across multiple currencies.Manage, maintain and drive our counterparty relationships. Expanding existing relationships and assisting with legal negotiations.Play an active role within the investment process, delivering a high level of service to portfolio managers across the business by providing market color, daily locates and assistance for repo to the investment side of the business.Superior people and relationship management skills are highly important.Must have a strong focus on markets, thrive in a high-pressure and fast paced environment and demonstrate the ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively.Manage daily risk exposures with strong attention to detail.Drive technology, innovation and scale.Use skills to improve trading performance, looking for efficiencies to build best in class quantitative and technological solutions.Analyze book performance and market trends on a daily basis, providing commentary to management and PM teams.Partner with internal stakeholders across the business including but not limited to Operations, Legal, onboarding, market structure, Fixed Income trading, RQA, LDI.Qualifications:
University degree educated.Professional or trading experience 2+ years and/or knowledge of Aladdin trading platform preferred but not required.Analytical mindset is key, be able to prove clear, logical & structured thought processes.Advanced experience with Excel and other technical abilities preferred (Python, SQL, VBA, Business Objects) – will give equal consideration to candidates without expertise but with an aptitude and desire to become proficient. Python programming is a major advantage.Demonstrated intellectual curiosity in financial markets, an appetite for consistent learning is a must, experience and/or knowledge of Fixed Income markets is helpful.Creative thinker and comfortable taking initiative in pursuing new opportunities.Problem solver, comfortable taking initiative, and able to work both independently and within a team in an environment that is dynamically changing.Our benefits
