Your Impact

The Legal Risk & Analytics Analyst will support Lowe's Legal Department by identifying, analyzing, and communicating risks related to litigation, operations, and business performance. This is a hybrid role, responsible for collecting, structuring, and analyzing claims and litigation data with a focus on general liability, premises liability, product liability, and workplace safety. The Analyst will ensure data integrity and accuracy and leverage our Risk Management Information System (RMIS) to design and implement data solutions that support informed decision-making across legal, risk, and operations teams. In addition, this role combines data analytics with risk management strategies to enhance legal insights, support ERM frameworks, and foster informed decision-making across the organization.

What You Will Do

Risk Identification & GovernanceAssist in identifying and evaluating risks related to operations, litigation, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety.Assist in maintaining and enhancing risk registers, dashboards, and risk-related reporting tools.Support monitoring key risk indicators (KRIs) and providing insights on emerging risks.Legal & Claims Data AnalyticsCollect, validate, and analyze basic litigation and casualty claims data, including indemnity/reserve values, incident reports, and legal spend.Assist in generating insights related to litigation rates, claim trends, case outcomes, and attorney performance.Distribute dashboards and ad hoc reports to support litigation strategy and risk mitigation efforts.Technology & RMIS SupportExtract, transform, and visualize legal risk data from the Lowe’s Risk Management Information System (RMIS).Create exception reports to identify data anomalies or inconsistencies in legal and claims coding.Support RMIS system configuration, maintenance, and governance.Data Integrity & ReportingConduct regular audits to ensure completeness and consistency of litigation and ERM-related data.Support system improvements for legal tracking, including template design, user permissions, and metadata accuracy.Prepare clear, visual reports and presentations for senior leadership.Stakeholder CollaborationCollaborate with in-house counsel, risk managers, claims teams, and third-party vendors to align risk mitigation and legal analytics initiatives.Translate complex data into actionable insights for both legal and business stakeholders.Contribute to the development and implementation of risk mitigation plans and legal strategy enhancements.Special Projects & ResearchAssist with ad hoc analytics and strategic initiatives for the Legal and ERM departments.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Legal Studies, Risk Management, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.2–4 years of experience in data analytics, litigation support, risk management, or legal operations.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools (Power BI or Tableau).Experience with RMIS platforms (e.g., Riskonnect, Origami, Ventiv) and legal or claims systems.Understanding of litigation processes, claim life cycles, and casualty risk exposure.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Experience with litigation claims such as general liability, product liability, premises liability, or workers’ compensation.Familiarity with legal billing systems, outside counsel management, and ERM frameworks (e.g., COSO ERM, ISO 31000).


Preferred Skills/Education

Knowledge of Python or statistical analysis techniques a plus.
