Join Team Amex and let's lead the way together. **Overview of Business:** The Center of Excellence (CoE) dedicated to Financial Crimes Decision Science and Analytics is responsible for the Enterprise-Wide financial crime risk management related programs across all our products and services globally. The team develops, implements, monitors and optimizes the automated transaction monitoring rules, reports, and other processes crafted to identify activity potentially indicative of financial crime behavior that is important from regulator view. By leveraging AI and ML Models, the Data Science team of the CoE has been a pioneer of the innovation. These models are intended to support and automate decision making for investigators, reducing time and effort spent in the Anti-Money Laundering Efforts of the firm. These innovative enhancements are critical input into making risk adjusted AML mitigation strategies across product and portfolios **How will you make an impact in this role?** + Responsible for development, deployment, and validation of predictive model(s) and supporting use of models in AML usecases + Understand the AML Program of AXP and the levers behind various decisions + Analyze large amounts of data to derive business insights and create innovative solutions + Leverage various traditional Unsupervised and supervised techniques, including isolation forest and gradient boosting methods + Setup and develop usecases leveraging emerging technologies like GenAI + Setup and monitor model performance using internal trackers and smart monitoring + Working closely with GFCC, FIU, CFR capabilities teams to understand their requirements and provide solutions. + Develop end-to-end data science solutions and work with internal governance team to get them approved + Leverage the power of closed loop through Amex network to make decisions more intelligent and relevant + Innovate with a focus on developing newer and better approaches using big data & machine learning solution + Clear articulation and structuring of project findings across to the leadership and key partners + Maintain external lens and be aware of developments in the field of Finance/Payments/Analytics etc **Minimum Qualifications** + A strong balance of technical knowledge and discernment with a proven track record of driving innovation and business metrics. Decision Science related work experience is highly desired + 0-30 months of work experience in data science or statistics related field + Excellent proficiency in Python (Data Science Related Libraries) and SQL + Evidence of strong mathematical & statistics knowledge + Ability to drive project deliverables to achieve business results + Ability to work effectively in a team environment + Strong communication and interpersonal skills + Innovative problem solver with ability to learn quickly and work independently with complex, unstructured initiatives + Bachelor’s Degree In Economics, Statistics, Computer Science Or related fields **Preferred Qualifications** + Expertise in Coding, Algorithm, High Performance Computing + Experience in version control (git), model deployment, developer environments + A good understanding of AML Investigations, payments industry and decision science frameworks **Qualifications** We back you with benefits that support your holistic well-being so you can be and deliver your best.
