Job Description

Overall Job Purpose

To support Cushman & Wakefield US Underwriting team on commercial real estate financing assignments by analyzing property, market, and borrower information, evaluating risks, and preparing underwriting materials and summaries for internal review.

Key ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze information provided by borrowers to develop a comprehensive understanding of the real estate asset underlying a financing request.Evaluate and compile property-level financial information, including income statements, rent rolls, reimbursements, occupancy statistics, and related data using Excel-based financial models.Conduct and compile market research to assess and validate project economics and underwriting assumptions, utilizing third-party data sources (e.g., REIS, RCA) and publicly available information.Review and analyze third-party reports, including real estate appraisals, environmental reports, property condition assessments, zoning analyses, and other due diligence materials.Perform borrower-level analysis to assess net worth, liquidity, investments, and identify and interpret any derogatory credit or financial issues.Prepare concise and structured written summaries and memo sections outlining key findings, risks, and observations related to the asset, market, and borrower for inclusion in underwriting briefs.Desired Skillset & QualificationsGraduate degree in Engineering, MBA, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.0-2 years of relevant work experience in real estate underwriting, financial analysis, or a related field.Strong quantitative and analytical skills with working knowledge of financial concepts such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV), and return analysis.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and tight timelines effectively.
