WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You’ll join the Global Workforce Planning and Staffing team, supporting the capacity and investment planning function for Vector.  Vector is Bain’s 600+person global team of technologists, designers, engineers, and data scientists, working at the intersection of business strategy and technology to deliver human-centered, data-powered solutions that drive real impact for our clients. 

You’ll report directly to the Director, Global Workforce Planning and Staffing and collaborate with stakeholders from Vector leadership, Talent Planning, and Bain’s internal functions.

This role plays a critical part in driving data-driven decision making across one of Bain’s fastest-growing innovation groups. Your work will directly support how the firm makes investment decisions in its people and strategic priorities.

WHERE YOU'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

As the Analyst, Talent Data & Reporting, you will manage and analyze large datasets related to project staffing, talent deployment, and team member skills, ensuring that we can deliver accurate, actionable, and zero-defect analysis, insights, and reporting to senior stakeholders.

You will be expected to think critically about the data, proactively check for errors, and surface insights that inform leadership decisions. Your technical rigor, curiosity, and commitment to accuracy will be key to your success.

This is an in-office role based in Bain’s Mexico City GBS office.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Data Management & Reporting:

Maintain and update large datasets related to staffing, resourcing, and internal investments across VectorBuild recurring dashboards and reporting packages to provide leadership with visibility into capacity trends, project allocations, and investment outcomesOwn the regular refresh and quality assurance process for all reporting assets

Custom Analysis & Insight Generation:

Conduct targeted, custom analyses to support project prioritization, capacity forecasting, and leadership reviewsPartner with the Senior Manager to translate business questions into structured analytical approaches and clear outputsProactively identify patterns, trends, or anomalies in data that could affect strategic decisions

Communication & Collaboration:

Synthesize analytical findings into clear, well-structured outputs for discussion with your supervisor and senior stakeholdersPresent insights in visually compelling formats that enable quick comprehension and actionCollaborate closely with the Senior Manager to understand the “so what” behind the numbers and provide context-aware deliverablesParticipate in working sessions and leadership forums to explain findings, clarify implications, and iterate on solutions

Problem Solving & Business Insight:

Think beyond the data to identify what it means for the business, including tradeoffs and risksApply structured reasoning to open-ended problems and suggest thoughtful, actionable recommendations

Quality Control & Accuracy:

Apply structured quality assurance techniques to ensure zero-defect reporting and analysisBuild tools, checks, and documentation to review your own work and support review of others’ work as neededMaintain data integrity and rigor across ad hoc and recurring projects

Tooling & Automation:

Leverage Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, and PowerPoint to create clear, repeatable, and scalable analysisRecommend and apply automation or optimization techniques to reduce manual rework(Optional but preferred) Use tools like SQL  or Python to manipulate complex datasets or connect to enterprise systemsUnderstand the broader context of Vector’s talent strategy and use analysis to guide smarter decision-makingShow curiosity and initiative in asking the next logical question—and helping answer it

ABOUT YOU

Must Have:

3+ years of experience in data analytics, reporting, people analytics, or operations rolesMastery of Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint, and Alteryx; working knowledge of data pipelines and visualization toolsExceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing zero-defect workStrong structured problem-solving and analytical thinking skillsAbility to clean, transform, and manage large and messy datasets with precisionHigh level of ownership, reliability, and personal accountabilityExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear business insightsComfortable working across time zones and supporting a globally distributed teamBachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics, Engineering, Business, Data Science, or similar)

Nice to Have:

Experience with SQL or Python (pandas) for advanced data manipulationFamiliarity with people analytics, workforce planning, or HR data systems (e.g., Workday)Exposure to professional services or consulting environmentsExperience building automated reporting pipelines or dashboards
