Analyst, Operations - Production Planning - Individual Contributor

Job Title: Production Planner (Contract)

Contract Duration: 12 months (dependent on support needs)

Overview:

The Production Planner will develop and implement production build plans by evaluating sales order priorities, material availability, cost, and production capacity. This role partners closely with Production leadership to optimize output and labor across product lines. Working under moderate supervision, the position applies industry principles and concepts of production planning and maintains general knowledge of industry standards.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Analyze sales orders within planning lead time to ensure material availability for scheduled orders.

Maintain accurate sales order due dates aligned with material availability and capacity constraints.

Collaborate with Sales Support teams to revise priorities and reschedule orders as needed.

Ensure customer delivery requirements are met.

Coordinate with Operations Project Managers and Material Coordinators on engineering change implementations.

Participate in material allocations in collaboration with Sales and Integrated Business Planning (IBP).

Perform trend and issue analysis related to production planning and contribute to resolution strategies.

Represent the planning function on cross-functional project teams.

Use planning tools to develop tactical inventory and supply solutions.

Support Production Supervisors and Leads in root-cause analysis activities.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

APICS Certification

Experience with QAD / SAP systems

Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word; intermediate proficiency in PowerPoint

Strong planning, analytical, attention to detail, and organizational skills

Positive interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving

Knowledge of business systems in Sales Order Management, Production Scheduling, Inventory Control, ERP/MRP, and Procurement

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
