Job Summary

What is the Opportunity?

The Hedge Funds team within ICCM is responsible for managing RBC’s credit relationships with Hedge Fund managers. The incumbent will partner with all of RBC Capital Market’s trading desks to ensure optimization of credit appetite, the use of trading lines and maximize revenue with Hedge Fund managers. The role is client facing, and includes the responsibility for ensuring the necessary support for trading desks to meet their established targets for growing revenues with Hedge Fund managers within RBC’s appetite for credit exposure and risk.

Job Description

What will you do? 

Support the maintenance and management of the credit relationship of a diverse portfolio of Hedge Fund accounts.Support the management of the complete credit onboarding process in support of RBCCM trading relationships (risk limits, regulatory, legal, compliance, tax, and operational matters).Work with our Trading Documentation team to ensure proper trading documents are negotiated.Prepare credit requests with the related documentation required as part of Risk Management approval process (amendments, trading lines, and periodic single name strategy exposure reviews).Prepare and submit trading line requests to relevant Business Heads for their support.Continuous maintenance of accurate counterparty compliance reports including NAV and performance data.Work with other ICCM team members to strategically address any and all counterparty credit concerns that may arise.Provide monthly reporting on utilization, NAV triggers, Due Diligence meetings, etc.Create call memos for annual / bi-annual credit Due Diligence meetings.Work with and advise product partners on the optimal amount of trading credit required to meet our strategic objectives with each client relationship. Understand and apply securities regulations governing hedge funds, mutual funds, pension funds and other institutional counterparties.

What do you need to succeed?

Basic Qualifications:

An understanding of credit risks associated with Hedge Funds and the trading products they use.A basic knowledge of hedge funds and the different strategies they employ.Undergraduate degree or higher.A general understanding of Capital Markets products base and the application thereof.

Other Required Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.Excellent communication, business development and relationship management skills.Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks while meeting time sensitive deadlines.Financial accounting skills.Strong analytical, technical, written and communication skills.A general knowledge of Credit and Credit Risk.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Present working schedule is 4 days in office, 1 day remoteStandard office environment; open plan/ multiple desk office; moderate to intensive use of computer.Position involves desk-work, movement among product units and the ability to make external client visitsAttention to detail is important.Requirement to meet deadlines, which occasionally are short (i.e. a general ability to diarize & prioritize).

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $80,000 - $90,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.  This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
