The Americas Business Development Leader is responsible for driving business development strategy, execution and team performance for the Americas’ Solutions Development Sales Team. Reporting to the Global Pursuit and Sales Enablement Leader, this role leads a regional team of Solutions Business Development Representatives, ensuring alignment with industry vertical-based sales objectives and integration with broader Americas Sales strategy. The Leader will bridge global business development initiatives with regional market dynamics, fostering a high-performance culture and delivering measurable growth in pipeline and conversion rates.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute business development strategies tailored to the Americas market, in alignment with global and regional sales objectives; layering in focused activities towards specific vertical industries.
Adapt global campaign strategies to regional verticals and geographies, partnering with Marketing, Demand Generation, and Commercial Growth teams.
Provide expertise in building and maintaining robust deal pipelines across different vertical industries.
Team Leadership & Management
Directly manage, coach, and develop a team of Solutions Business Development Representatives, focusing on performance, career growth, and talent retention.
Conduct regular 1:1 coaching, team meetings, and performance management processes to drive prospecting discipline, relationship building, deal progression and pipeline reporting.
Foster a high-performing team culture that celebrates personal, and team wins, while encouraging others to share successes.
Brings a deep understanding of client needs and the ability to position solutions effectively.
Sales Process Optimization
Monitor, enhance, and continually improve prospecting processes, lead qualification, and conversion rates using data analytics and technology (ie: Salesforce, SalesLoft, and Monday.com).
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Demand Gen, Customer Success, Revenue Operations) to optimize sales process efficiencies.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Oversee the development and execution of client engagement plans, account mapping, and targeted campaigns to generate net-new and expansion opportunities.
Ensure streamlined engagement with prospects and clients, leveraging internal networks across JLL business lines.
Performance Reporting & Success Metrics
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including lead generation, pipeline growth, conversion rates, and team productivity while driving accountability to sales stakeholders.
Present executive-level vision and operating plans to senior leadership in support of business development growth.
Talent Development & Succession Planning
Attract, retain, and nurture top talent within the Americas BD team, focusing on personal career development and succession planning.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor degree in business, Marketing, or related field is preferred, but experience requirements below are required.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of sales experience, with proven success in business development or prospecting leadership roles.
Experience managing a business development team, preferably in commercial real estate, consulting, or software.
Demonstrated ability to generate enterprise-level opportunities and navigate complex organizational structures.
Skills
Strong operational mindset and analytical skills; proficiency in Salesforce and data analytics tools.
Strategic thinking and ability to adapt approaches to diverse verticals and geographies.
Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to travel within the Americas region as required.
