Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an exceptional individual to join the Data Center Capacity and Delivery (DCCD) Program Management Office as a Program Manager suppoting Construction Document Control. Our team provides administrative project support, leads strategic initiatives, and drives process improvement for our Construction customers across the organization. We thrive on operational efficiency and always insist on the highest standards. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal), not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities, and have a basic understanding of data center construction, and a drive to learn and be curious. They will be detailed oriented and apply a variety of program coordination tools, methodologies, and techniques that support quick and efficient purchasing across all construction disciplines. Key job responsibilities • Facilitate Design Releases to our active project awards and ensure appropriate file locations, document quality and standards are maintained. • Maintain and track the status of Construction Documents and design transfers from internal Design Engineering teams to Construction and eventual external transmission to General Contractors and vendors. • Build and manage related key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure, control, and benchmark contract processes • Partner with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities • Work closely with internal stakeholders such as design managers, program managers, construction managers, pre-construction managers, and legal partner teams to align data and business practices • Own the delivery and backup of Monthly Business Review (MBR) reporting for peer and manager review • Implement and maintain reports and dashboards • Write and maintain internal and external training material and standard operating procedures (SOPs) A day in the life In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating program coordination of Construction Documents and Designs with General Contractors (GCs) and other external vendors, develop data visualizations that drive business decisions, and contribute to process improvements for the DCCD Construction teams. You will be involved in the full life cycle of construction projects including activity from the start of the construction project through project execution and close out. You will work with highly-motivated experts from Engineering, Design, Construction, Procurement, Finance, and Legal to complete key deliverables required to build AWS data centers Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field - Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production - Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems - Experience with power management and power monitoring systems Preferred Qualifications - 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure experience - Knowledge of critical data center equipment - Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and standard operating procedures - Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA - Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure - Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations, with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure - Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $98,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
