General Summary:
The general scope of this position’s responsibility is to maintain accurate inventory accounts and to review supply & demand data to manage issues that could cause production problems. Other main duties include various ad hoc reporting of inventory, cost reduction metrics, product costing, and capital projects. In addition, this position will assist the Plant Controller with the monthly close process.
Responsibilities Analyze inventory and costing transactions to provide management with accurate inventory reportingAssist in the maintenance of accurate bills of material and product routingsManage the calculation and reporting of the plant’s cost reduction metricsCompile data and reports for the monthly aged and obsolescence inventory review meetingLead and conduct inventory cycle counts as required and serve as a key participating member during the plant’s annual physical inventory processBalance the plant’s resin inventory contained in silos and railcars on a weekly basisServe as the primary backup for conducting the plant’s rail switchesMonitor on a proactive basis the raw material stock and deliveries in order to optimize warehouse space without disrupting plant production Assist the Plant Controller with the monthly financial close process by preparing assigned journal entries and other various reportingPerform other duties and tasks as assigned Qualifications Ability to work safelyAbility to understand/communicate English in oral and written formAbility and willingness to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime when warrantedAbility to wear all PPE (personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection and steel toed shoes)Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups) and the ability to extract, manipulate, and analyze large volumes of dataKnowledge of JD Edwards and IBM COGNOS is preferred, but not requiredExperience creating queries within a relational database is preferred, but not requiredOrganizational and problem solving skills a mustAttention to detail and the ability to see a project through to completionAbility to meet deadlinesSelf motivated Additional InfoContact
