**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Rotating Shift **Description:** **Position Purpose** At **Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center** , the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Ambulatory Surgery Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides post-operative care for patients recovering from surgical procedures performed in the Ambulatory Operating Room and Main Operating Room. **What You Will Do** + Provide high-acuity care for patients recovering from outpatient surgical procedures. + Manage Phase 1 and 2 recovery, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia, stabilization, and readiness for discharge or transfer. + Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and care teams to deliver advanced interventions and uphold perioperative standards. **Minimum Qualifications** **Required** : + Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing required. + Valid RN license in Connecticut **Preferred** : + Bachelor’s degree in Nursing + The ideal candidate will have one or more years of PACU experience supporting inpatient surgical recovery + Candidates with Emergency Room or ICU nurses with 2 or more years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate expertise in ICU-level ventilated patient care, critical drips (e.g., vasopressors, sedatives), and strong assessment skills. **Note** : Training is not available for candidates without this expertise. + BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC) + ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire) + Proficiency in ASPAN standards and guidelines **Position Highlights and Benefits** + Per Diem– Rotating Shifts + Monday thru Friday, no weekend or holiday commitment. + Variable Day shift rotations with ranging start times of 5:30 am, 6 am, 7 am, 8 am, or 9:00 am. + Shifts range from 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts, based on unit needs **Ministry/Facility Information** Saint Francis Hospital, established in 1897, has been a cornerstone institution in Connecticut.
