Job Description

The ADS Claims Team Lead manages and leads a mechanical claims adjusting unit responsible for adjudicating Vehicle Service Contract (VSC), GAP, and Ancillary claims accurately, consistently, and in alignment with contract language and company guidelines. This role provides technical and operational leadership to adjusters, ensuring sound mechanical decision-making, loss cost control, and exceptional service to customers, repair facilities, TPAs, vendors, and strategic partners.
Schedule: 10:15 AM – 7:00 PM (EST)

Key Responsibilities

Provide daily leadership and technical guidance to a team of Claims Adjusters handling complex automotive repair claimsEnsure accurate interpretation of contract coverage, labor time validation, parts pricing verification, and proper claim adjudicationCoach adjusters on mechanical diagnostics, repair logic, cause of failure analysis, and early claim indicatorsMonitor production, call performance, pending inventory, cycle time, and severity trends; communicate results and action plans to leadershipDrive loss cost control through labor guide validation (Mitchell, AllData, Motors), MSRP validation, and parts sourcing oversightReview and authorize high-dollar and complex claims; escalate to senior authority when requiredLead training initiatives for new and tenured adjusters to improve quality, consistency, and technical decision-makingResolve escalations from repair facilities, agents, customers, TPAs, and strategic partners with professionalism and authorityEnsure compliance with internal processes, audit standards, regulatory requirements, and documentation expectationsServe as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for system functionality and claims handling within assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR)Review TPA-submitted claims for accuracy, proper coverage application, and cost control prior to authorization

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct supervision of Claims Adjusters, including performance management, coaching, training, and development.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree preferred3+ years of claims adjusting experience, preferably in Vehicle Service Contracts or automotive warrantyPrior leadership or mentoring experience preferredIn lieu of formal education, equivalent combination of education and relevant automotive/claims experience will be considered

Preferred Technical Background

Automotive mechanical background strongly preferred (e.g., prior technician, service advisor, shop foreman, or equivalent experience)Demonstrated ability to interpret repair estimates, diagnostic procedures, and OEM repair standardsExperience utilizing automotive labor guides (Mitchell, AllData, Motors, ProDemand)

Functional Skills

Strong knowledge of automotive repair systems and mechanical diagnosticsAbility to analyze severity trends and coach toward improved loss cost controlAdvanced negotiation and conflict resolution skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven mentoring and coaching abilityProficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and claims management systemsAbility to adapt to evolving processes and regulatory requirements

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is 68,500.00 - 115,600.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
