For more information, visit www.everonsolutions.com or follow us on LinkedIn. **Position Summary:** The Alarm Receiver Specialist is responsible for monitoring incoming alarm signals, providing technical support for alarm receiving equipment, and ensuring that receiving technology and software systems function efficiently and reliably. This role bridges monitoring operations with technical troubleshooting to maintain seamless alarm response workflows. **_Key Responsibilities_** **Alarm Monitoring & Response** + Monitor incoming signals from burglary, fire, panic, and environmental alarms. + Respond to alerts per company protocol, verify emergency events, and dispatch appropriate responders when needed. + Maintain accurate and timely documentation of alarm events and operator actions. **Technology Support & Maintenance** + Provide first-line support for issues related to alarm receiving equipment, IP receivers, phone line integration, and network-based alarm transmission. + Troubleshoot communication issues between customer alarm panels and central station receivers (e.g., Contact ID, SIA, IP, cellular). + Monitor system health of alarm receivers and escalate outages, connectivity losses, or degraded performance to engineering or IT. + Assist with configuration, calibration, and routine testing of alarm receivers and transmission systems. + Collaborate with alarm installers and technicians to verify signal paths and resolve signal delivery problems. **Systems Operations** + Use monitoring software and receiver platforms (e.g., Sur-Gard, Bosch, DMP) to track system performance. + Help implement receiver firmware updates, backups, and changes under supervision. + Document recurring technical issues and work with IT or vendor support for long-term fixes. + Participate in audits, failover testing, and compliance checks for UL-listed central station standards. **Skills & Qualifications** + High School diploma or GED required; associate degree in IT, electronics, or related field a plus. + Prior experience in alarm monitoring, central station operations, or low-voltage technical support preferred. + Strong technical aptitude with alarm receiving equipment (e.g., Sur-Gard, Radionics, Bosch) and signal formats (e.g., CID, SIA, DMP). + Familiarity with networking basics, IP troubleshooting, and cellular communication pathways. + Clear verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with technicians, authorities, and internal teams. + Ability to stay calm and detail-focused during high-stress emergencies situations. **Schedule & Work Conditions** + Must be available for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. + Work takes place in a secure central monitoring station with continuous surveillance and access controls. + May involve sitting at a monitoring station for extended periods and wearing a headset. **_Preferred Certifications (Not Required)_** + NICET Level I or II in Fire Alarm Systems + TMA/CSAA Level I or II Central Station Operator Training + CompTIA A+ or Network+ for technical support experience **_Career Growth_** • This role offers a path to Central Station Supervisor, Alarm Systems Analyst, Technical Support Specialist, or IT Operations roles, depending on focus.
