Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is looking for an **Air Quality Technician** for an existing position in Sault Ste Marie, ON. This job provides opportunities for involvement with Ambient Air Monitoring, Air Pollution Control, Industrial Ventilation & Odour Control System projects. The role will include the following responsibilities. **Ambient Monitoring Network Support** + Installation, operation and decommissioning of ambient air monitoring equipment. + Perform ambient air sampling. + Setting up samples and retrieving samples for laboratory analysis on regular basis. + Coordination with equipment suppliers and laboratories. + Field activities for equipment monitoring, service and maintenance + Routine operations including trouble shooting, equipment calibration and data collection. + Perform the daily, weekly, monthly equipment calibrations + Perform regular investigations and log observations of the sampling equipment in station log book **General** + Understanding of various Industrial and Chemical sector processes. + Knowledge of air emissions from multiple sources. + Familiarity with air pollution control systems and concepts. + Preparation of technical documents and reports. + Work with internal teams and external clients. + Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope. + Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories. + Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements :** + High School diploma or higher + 2+ years of relevant experience + Must be willing and capable of working outdoors year-round, climb ladders and stairs, and work at elevated heights. + Must be capable of lifting, carrying, and hoisting test equipment weighing possibly up to 50 lbs. **Preferred Qualifications:** + College Degree as an Environmental or Civil Technician or Technologist is preferred. + Technical report writing skills. + Communication skills and ability to collaborate. + Software knowledge of AutoCad, Civil 3D, Envista ARM and MS Office. + Relevant experience that includes environmental testing or analytical laboratory experience is desired. + Knowledge in the practices required to generate valid scientific data. + Able to work both independently and in a project team environment. + Ability to record test data legibly, completely, and accurately. + Ability to work on the field for process measurements and data collection. + Aptitude for operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment. + Ability to recognize hazards and work safely in an industrial setting. + Show initiative and interest in professional development. + Possess good written and verbal communication skills. **Additional Information** + Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
