A day in the life
Every day in Air Operations starts before the sun rises or ends well past midnight depending on the flight schedule. As an Air Operations Coordinator. You begin your shift by reviewing the flight schedule, verifying truck arrival times, and ensuring every container is built, screened, and ready to move. Using internal tools and dashboards, you monitor the progress of inbound freight, confirm cargo handoffs, and flag any potential delays.
When issues arise a delayed truck, a documentation discrepancy or a carrier equipment constraint you dive deep to find solutions, coordinating in real time with carriers, linehaul teams and air carriers.
Throughout your shift, you update dashboards, maintain accurate logs, and communicate performance results to the Air Hub Manager. By the end of the day, your success is measured in on-time departures, safe operations and every customer order that made its flight.
Beyond execution, you look for patterns and improvement opportunities perhaps a recurring delay window or an inefficient handoff and you propose data-driven actions to improve tomorrow’s performance.
