The Air Carrier Ops Manager will lead the day-to-day operational engagement with partner carriers, overseeing flight operations performance, network disruption management, charter coordination, ground handling oversight, and carrier expansion programmes. This role requires a strong aviation operations background, the ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder environments, and a hands-on approach to driving continuous improvement across all aspects of carrier operations.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Leading regular operational oversight with partner carrier Operations Control Centres (OCC) and internal network control teams, ensuring alignment on daily flight operations, disruption recovery, and operational priorities, with increased cadence during peak periods.
• Monitoring and analysing carrier operational performance metrics, including on-time performance (OTP) reconciliation, spare aircraft utilisation, network flight cancellations, and fleet serviceability.
• Conducting daily network surveillance across the European route network, performing root cause analysis on disruptions and irregularities, and driving corrective actions with carrier partners.
• Managing end-to-end schedule operations via AirVision, including schedule implementation, cancellations, SSIM comparison and reconciliation with carrier systems, and upload to internal planning platforms.
• Coordinating ad-hoc charter operations from feasibility assessment through execution, including loadability evaluation, regulatory compliance, and lessons learnt reporting.
• Overseeing ground handling performance and station-level transitions, including ramp metrics, new station launches, handler changeovers, and infrastructure projects.
• Serving as primary point of contact for BSA operations with airline partners, including delay reconciliation and carrier expansion programmes.
• Developing SOPs, driving continuous improvement across carrier operations, and representing Amazon Air with partner carriers, airport authorities, and ground handling providers.
• Travelling to operational sites across Europe up to 20% of the time.
