Description:

PRN -Non-benefited - (Night shift Friday & Saturday 10:30 pm - 7:00 am) Location: Silver Spring, MD Inhouse Transport ServicesResponsible for the timely, courteous, and competent transportation of patients throughout Holy Cross Hospital via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed.  Reports directly to Manager of Transport Services/Designee or, to Administrative Coordinator in absence of Departmental supervisory personnel

Responsibilities:

Receives assignments for specific trips and associated tasks from Manager and/or Dispatchers.  Delivers and retrieves transport equipment throughout the hospital, as directed.  Participates in cleaning and inspection of wheelchairs and stretchers.  Accepts additional assignments related to support functions as is needed to provide service excellence to patients, visitors, and hospital staff. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

Required:

High School Diploma or GED equivalentGeneral knowledge of patient transport and age-specific interactions.Ability to read and write information in English regarding trip assignments and to confirm patient’s identification. Ability to use alpha-numeric pager and telephone. Customer service core competencies for ability to deal directly with patients, their families, and hospital staff. Ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures. Able to work independently.Verifiable patient transport experience is extremely desirable.Training in use of the equipment used to transport patients is recommended.CPR certification required within (12) month.

Preferred:

Minimum of one to three months experience in a healthcare setting, especially in a role, which interacts with patients, is preferred. 

Pay Range: $17.58 - $21.63

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
