JOB TITLE: Aide III - Specially Funded - ELL • 3.5 hours per day • Must be ESSA Compliant Under supervision, to provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. • Work with classroom teachers, special teachers, counselors or other personnel. • Assist in guiding pupils in the development of desirable social skills and habits. • Help school personnel in establishing good moral and spiritual values, and mental and physical health for all pupils. • Assist with checking, care, preparation and arrangement of instructional materials and equipment. • Assist with yard duty, cafeteria count, attendance verifications, enrollment procedures, first aid, and home contacts. • Help with record keeping, filing, checking and works with small groups of children under the direction of the teacher or a member of the certificated staff. • Communicate effectively in oral and written form in English and a second language, as required by the assignment. • Learn to utilize a variety of appropriate instructional materials and procedures in the enhancement of a positive educational environment. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.

All positions require proof of completion of the 12th grade or equivalent (ie. high school diploma, high school transcript, GED.) Must be ESSA Compliant: 48 college semester units from an accredited college or AA degree; OR Paraprofessional Certificate; OR Testing with the Fairfax School District.
