Lockheed Martin Space AI Innovation Team is seeking a motivated entry level hybrid Software and AI/ML Machine Learning Engineer to join a cross-functional team of experts in research, data science, software development, physics, and mathematics. As a key member of this team, you will leverage cutting-edge AI/ML tools and techniques to tackle the most complex challenges in Space - all in support of our national security.
This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, drive innovation, help steer AI strategy, and contribute to the development of solutions that address critical problems in the Space domain.
The successful candidate will have Software Development experience with knowledge of: AI/ML, Deep Learning, or Computer Vision, modern software development practices/languages, and a passion for math and science and continued growth.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (e.g.
Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,
Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics,
etc.)
• Experience with machine learning concepts and algorithms
• Experience with Python and Java
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, REST
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Experience with agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Unreal Engine
• Experience working in a fast pace R&D setting

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
