Purpose

The AI Product Owner is responsible for defining and executing the vision, strategy, and roadmap for integrating generative AI and machine learning into the company’s internal workflows and digital products. Working under the Vice President of Product & Innovation, this role leads cross-functional efforts to identify high-value AI use cases, translate them into technical deliverables, and ensure successful implementation. The AI Product Owner bridges the gap between business needs and AI capabilities, guiding development teams in creating scalable, ethical, and impactful AI-driven solutions that optimize processes, enhance decision-making, and drive innovation. This role also ensures strong alignment between technical execution and strategic outcomes by managing priorities, clarifying requirements, and overseeing the full lifecycle of AI feature development - from concept to deployment and iteration.



Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

 

Own the product strategy and vision for AI-powered features and tools across the enterprise.Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify AI opportunities that support business and operational goals.Define success criteria and value metrics for AI-enabled solutions.

At the Operational and Company Level

 

Partner with Data Science, Engineering, Product, and Innovation teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver AI initiatives.Facilitate cross-functional alignment on goals, timelines, and outcomes for AI product development.Act as a champion for responsible AI use, governance, and adoption throughout the organization.Communicate strategy and progress to business leaders and other stakeholders.

 

Do the Work

Develop detailed user stories, product requirements, and technical documentation for AI features and workflows.Translate strategic AI goals into actionable roadmaps and sprint plans, balancing experimentation and delivery.Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and stakeholder reviews in collaboration with technical leads.Conduct discovery sessions to identify workflow inefficiencies, knowledge gaps, or opportunities for AI augmentation.Oversee pilot programs and phased rollouts to evaluate AI model performance and product impact.Coordinate user testing, performance validation, compliance review, and user feedback collection.Collaborate with UX and training teams to design intuitive interfaces and effective onboarding for AI features.Track usage, satisfaction, adoption trends, and business value of AI features using quantitative and qualitative data.Provide clear documentation and presentations to stakeholders to communicate AI product vision, milestones, and insights.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Product Management, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in product management, digital strategy, or technology roles, with at least two (2) years focused on AI/ML solutions.Familiarity with generative AI, LLMs, machine learning pipelines, and related APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure AI, Hugging Face).Experience with agile product development and cross-functional team leadership.Strong analytical and storytelling skills using data and product metrics.
