**Your role and responsibilities**
As a watsonx.governance product manager, you will own specific component(s) of the solution, steering growth and continuous improvement while embodying expertise in the AI governance space. This is an opportunity to identify and define differentiating features to support responsible AI adoption at scale, with trust and transparency.
This role partners closely with design, engineering, IBM research and customer-facing teams to translate technical capabilities into clear product requirements. You will have the opportunity to identify customer needs and market opportunities through direct engagement with clients and customer-facing teams, data analysis, and competitive research. As a subject matter expert of the watsonx.governance product team, you will support pre-sales and post-sales activities, providing product expertise to clients and partners.
This role drives innovation through input and collaboration with peer Product Managers through product ideation, roadmap development, and release planning, working with engineering to evaluate technical tradeoffs and build scalable capabilities to deliver balanced short-terms wins and long-term innovations. Additional responsibilities include ongoing measurement and optimization of product performance and championing improvements based on business and technical metrics.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
Required Professional and Technical Expertise
* At least 4 years of technical product management with proven track record of delivering successful AI/ML features
* Proven ability to synthesize complex issues and solutions into simple stories.
* Ability to define differentiating features and evolve a compelling roadmap for AI products that align with business goals and user needs.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market trends, customer feedback, and competitive insights.
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
* Prior experience in delivering features for software, cloud, particularly in an infrastructure-focused role.
* Understanding of AI/ML Concepts; hands on experience with predictive ML, GenAI and agents, evaluation metrics, benchmarking & model meta-data, guardrails.
* Responsible AI & governance; knowledge of use case definition, observability, compliance frameworks, risk and security management.
* Observability and optimization; ability to evaluate model and agent behavior, optimize agentic AI governance strategy, perform experiment tracking and optimize user interactions with generative AI and agents.
* Customer-facing experience.
