**Summary**
This internship is an exciting opportunity for students who want to grow their skills in AI, cybersecurity, and software development. As an **AI Intern – Cybersecurity** , you will contribute to building a small‑scale proof‑of‑concept (PoC) that uses Large Language Models (LLMs) to interpret text inputs and support a functional web application. You will gain hands‑on experience, explore secure AI development practices, and work closely with mentors and industry professionals while contributing to meaningful projects within Emerson’s global Systems and Software organization.
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Designing an LLM‑powered proof‑of‑concept using available internal datasets while practicing AI concepts, prompt engineering, and text processing.
+ Applying LLMs to analyze free‑form text, organize content, and match interpreted inputs to relevant information or outputs, including preparing datasets for testing and evaluation.
+ Exploring potential AI development risks—such as prompt injection or insecure credential handling—and incorporating basic mitigations where applicable.
+ Delivering a functional AI PoC that interprets user text inputs and returns mapped information through a web interface.
+ Documenting your project process, lessons learned, secure development practices applied, tools used, and future improvement opportunities.

**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ Ongoing studies in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
+ Ability to complete at least **560 internship hours** (open to required or voluntary internships).
+ **Ability to start on March 9, 2026.**
+ Curiosity about cybersecurity, automation, and software development.
+ Foundational exposure to AI concepts through coursework, projects, or research.
+ Familiarity with web development tools or languages such as CSS, C#, ReactJS, HTML5, JavaScript, or similar.
+ Willingness to collaborate and engage in team‑based problem‑solving.
**Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:**
+ Awareness of cybersecurity frameworks.
+ Experience using modern web development tools or building small applications.
+ Interest in exploring LLMs, cloud‑based AI tools, or similar technologies.
+ Familiarity with Azure Foundry (not required).
