The Role

As an Agentic AI Architect at Kyndryl, you’ll work on cutting-edge frameworks that are a generation ahead of today’s frontier technologies. This is a strategically important role for Kyndryl, offering the opportunity to lead architecture design for enterprise-scale AI platforms that integrate Agentic AI capabilities.

You’ll combine deep technical expertise with architectural vision - designing distributed systems, setting quality standards, and guiding teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions. Expect a true builder’s environment, where MVP rollouts happen in weeks, and your ideas shape the future of enterprise AI.

What You’ll Do
· Agent role decomposition and responsibility design (e.g., Planner / Executor / Critic)
· Orchestration design for multi-agent and multi-step processing (e.g., LangGraph or custom orchestrators)
· Guardrail design and integrated control strategies spanning policies, prompts, tools, and runtime
· Model strategy design including LLM selection, switching, routing, and failover
· Information retention and retrieval architecture design, including RAG, short-term and long-term memory, and context management
· Operational and monitoring design including agent behavior evaluation, drift detection, and governance

Essential Qualifications

· Native Japanese proficiency or equivalent

· 3+ years of architecture design experience for AI systems including LLMs at a production level

· Design experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures
· Experience making cross-cutting design and architectural decisions across multiple components (agents, tools, data, security)
· Enterprise system design experience with consideration for security, availability, and scalability
· Experience defining technical direction and leading engineers

Preferred Skills
· Design experience with agentic AI, multi-agent systems, and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph)
· Hands-on experience with RAG, memory design, and long-term context management
· Experience designing guardrails, AI governance, and responsible AI systems
· Hands-on experience with LLM model selection, switching, and cost optimization
