The Afternoon Warehouse Supervisor will oversee a team of 20-25 warehouse associates in an aftermarket automotive parts distribution setting. Responsibilities include delegating tasks, training, coaching, and resolving day-to-day operational issues. The supervisor will schedule shifts, work directly with the warehouse manager for daily planning, set goals, and address internal staff issues. Additionally, the supervisor will ensure health and safety processes are correctly followed while contributing ideas for operational improvements.
ResponsibilitiesSupervise a team of unionized warehouse employees, including task delegation, training, coaching, and corrective action.Plan, communicate, and execute daily shift work plans based on priorities, equipment availability, and space utilization.Monitor warehouse performance and activities using KPIs with a focus on cost controls.Communicate daily with Distribution and Warehouse Managers regarding shift targets, issues, and provide production reports.Maintain accurate inventory counts and conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, or equipment.Ensure timely shipment of orders to customers and investigate lost or damaged shipments.Recommend improvements in work procedures to enhance productivity, safety, quality, and efficiency.Plan warehouse layout and space requirements to prevent loss or damage and achieve full optimization.Enforce security and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.Apply, record, and document discipline fairly and consistently as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.Collaborate with Human Resources on labor relations issues.Must Haves5-7 years of experience supervising teams of 15+ people.Experienced working in a unionized environment.Strong verbal communication skills.Experience in scheduling shifts and delegating tasks.Excellent problem-solving skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong Microsoft Excel experience.Experience in automotive warehousing, supply chain, SAP, and warehouse management systems.Background in logistics or inventory.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment is a 150,000 square foot outbound warehouse with 80 employees per shift. It stores boxed and prepped parts for delivery to wholesalers and clients, functioning similarly to a third-party logistics (3PL) facility. Equipped with 20-foot racks and Raymond reach, the warehouse operates from 3 pm to 11 am.
