After School Program Supervision Purpose Statement The job of After-School Program Supervisor is done for the purpose/s of assisting in the supervision and instruction of school children; providing age appropriate activities; and assisting students with homework as may be required. Essential Functions Cleans work areas (e.g. classroom, storage, work tables, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining an orderly environment. Coordinates program activities (e.g. games, art, music, homework, etc.) for the purpose of addressing the individual and/or group needs of children. Evaluates situations (e.g. disciplinary problems, hazardous conditions, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution. Interacts with children in various activities (e.g. snack time, group or individual play, Homework Place, etc.) for the purpose of providing for a safe and positive learning environment. Maintains daily sign in/sign out sheet Interacts positively with parents, students and faculty Other Functions Administers first aid to children as may be required for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs. Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications SKILLS are required to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in a after school program; administering first aid; adhering to safety practices. KNOWLEDGE is required to perform assist students in safe play. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: age appropriate activities; stages/needs of child development; safety practices and procedures;.
