GENERAL PURPOSE: Maintain machine work flow to meet due dates for assigned machines. Serve as the Lead Technician in the maintenance and production output of the Finishing work cell.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Operates Affixing machine to keep up with scheduled workload.
• Cross trains on additional packaging machines as needed.
• Looks up and understands customer requirements.
• Sets up and operates camera systems per job specifications.
• Adheres to Quality Control processes.
• Sets up labeler.
• Sets up packaging.
• Evaluates set up/make-ready for standard projects and identifies opportunities for improved efficiency and set up reduction.
• Works closely with department manager utilizing lean methodology to improve efficiencies in work flows.
• Provides technical support when required.
• Enters accurate information into data collection system.
• Reads job tickets, verifies job and part numbers match affixing mockup before loading machine.
• Checks register and make necessary adjustments to produce expected output.
• Monitors quality outputs, making adjustments as necessary.
• Completes paperwork recording counts.
• Follows the 5S principals.
• Maintains machine; performs repairs as necessary.
• Operates utilizing good manufacturing practices.
• Sets up standardized practices for machine for improved efficiencies.
• Maintains the maintenance records for machine.
• Inspects any repairs made by operators.
• Participates in all machine related Lean initiatives.
• Sustains cleanliness and organization in all machine areas using 5S principles.
• Understands lock out tag out procedures.
• Trains as a Lock Out Tag Out Authorized Employee.
• Troubleshoots issues requiring machine safety guard or panel removal and the locking out of the machine.
• Locks out machine if and when an unsafe condition is noted as reported by an operator or noted by self.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Minimum 2 years’ prior experience working with manufacturing machines (Ga-Vehren, Kirk Rudy, Shanklin) preferred.
• Must be proficient with a computer related to the controls for affixing lines and camera systems.
• Must have the ability to read and write instructions and correspondence in English.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Must be able to maintain good attendance.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
