Aerospace Weld Trainer

Basic Qualifications:

Certified Welder via AMS2694 or relevant AWS certification 

Minimum 5 years of professional welding experience in industrial, manufacturing, or fabrication environments.

Minimum 2 years’ experience onboarding and training new weld trainees

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant’s ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in multiple welding processes and blueprint reading

Strong understanding of welding safety standards and quality requirements

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles

We’re looking for a confident Weld Trainer with demonstrated experience onboarding and training new welders to be successful welding with GTAW based equipment to join our team and help develop the next generation of skilled welders. In this role, you’ll deliver hands-on training, mentor learners of varying skill levels, and ensure all trainees meet aerospace industry and organizational standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Train, mentor, and certify new welders 

Provide ongoing skills development, coaching, and performance feedback to welding personnel regarding quality and speed of welds

Monitor workmanship, weld quality yields, and compliance with specifications and blueprints 

Conduct over-inspection of weld samples/parts to verify quality standards 

Develop and improve welding methods, techniques, and equipment for production applications 

Serve as a person to share best practices with other facilities 

Plan and execute weld repairs on potentially scrap castings 

Maintain weld wire, weld cap, and related inventory controls 

Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities to problem solve casting repair and/or operator techniques

Support time expectations for work completion  

Audit standard work and ensure adherence to established procedures 

Collaborate with Engineers and Supervisors to evaluate trainees and address training issues 

Define tools and supplies needed for training and production support 

Ability to travel on a limited basis 

Perform additional duties as assigned to support department and organizational goals
