Position Summary:
Selected candidates for this entry level position will learn tasks that support non-inspection functions in the NDT department, with an opportunity of on-the-job training to begin a career as an NDT Inspector. A person choosing this opportunity performing work in the NDT process or assisting NDT personnel who is not yet qualified to any level is considered a “trainee”. A trainee works under the direct supervision of a Level II or Level III and may not independently conduct or document tests. Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills. Candidates must have the ability and desire to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced production environment, be resourceful and innovative along with presenting a strong business ethic and compliance to leadership and company policies, and a good communicator with the ability to represent the company in a positive manner. Selected candidates will be expected to perform a variety of tasks which include but are not limited to racking, masking, and cleaning of production aerospace parts.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Reviewing and assimilating work instructions relating to racking, cleaning and masking operations.Perform receiving inspections (before processing) as needed and immediately report any damage or discrepancy.Gathers supplies such as racks, tooling, baskets, carts (etc)Masking of production parts to protect certain surfaces from cleaning and inspecting operations.Racking of production parts for cleaning and inspecting operationsCleaning of production parts which include degreasing or manual solvent cleaningWill require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during certain tasks (goggles, safety glasses, aprons, boots, gloves, hearing protection, etc) and be expected to comply with safety directives and policy.Will be exposed to chemicals/solvents and occasional fumes, wet/humid conditions, low-level lighting, and moderate noise level.Will at times require heavy lifting or use of mechanical hoist for the aid in lifting objectsWork closely with inspectors and area leadership to complete work and prioritize tasksClean, organize and maintain work area as prescribed by supervisionComplete documentation, counting of production parts, computer scanning, package to protect and transport, and other assigned tasks.Required Skills:
