We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell V\-280 Valor Future Long\-Range Assault Aircraft \(FLRAA\), part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift \(FVL\) modernization effort, and a next generation stop\-fold tilt\-rotor as part of the DARPA SPRINT program\. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and designing upgrade kits for the legacy fleet\. This position reports onsite at our Flight Research Center in Arlington, TX\.
**Aerodynamic Performance & Handling Qualities Engineer**
The successful candidate will be deployed to the Bell Model 525 Engineering Team\. The 525 is currently undergoing final testing and substantiation activities for its initial Type Certification \(TC\)\. The 525 will be the first commercially certified, full fly\-by\-wire, super\-medium helicopter\. For initial TC, the aircraft will be capable of flight within the envelope demonstrated to date, including inadvertent entry into icing conditions\. Immediately after initial TC, follow\-on activities will expand the operational envelope including flight into known icing conditions, incorporation of kits, etc\. The 525 Engineering Team is highly collaborative and includes international partners\. Travel to off\-site test facilities and/or partner and vendor sites will be expected\.
**What you'll be doing as an Aerodynamic Performance & Handling Qualities Engineer:**
* Generate Performance & Handling Qualities type certification deliverables, test plans, and test reports in accordance with FAA Part 29 requirements
* Support company and certification flight test activities, including flight test monitoring and data reduction
* Support post\-type certification kit development and certification
* Support foreign validation of the FAA TC \(EASA, TCCA, ANAC, etc\.\)
**Qualifications**
**Skills you can bring to this role:**
* Development or execution of flight test plans to meet commercial and/or military certification/qualification requirements
* Flight test data analysis
* Test plan/report writing
* Software proficiency:
* MATLAB, Python, or equivalent analysis language
* MS Office **What you need to be successful:**
* At least 2 years of relevant experience\.
* Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent discipline\.
* Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience\.
* Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered\. **What we offer you in return:**
