About this RoleYou are an experienced Aerial Lineman who is responsible for the daily planning and execution of aerial construction. You will be working from bucket trucks where you ensure that fiber cable is properly installed and secured to engineering specifications and industry standards. Your developed ability to provide guidance to the other members on your immediate team, will help you achieve construction goals while simultaneously meeting the essential Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
Safely operate bucket trucks and/or other types of man-liftsInstall strand and applicable hardwareProperly set span up for cable placement with the use of cable rollersPlace fiber optic & coax cablesUtilize standard telecommunications toolsSet up and utilize single or double lashing toolSet up and operate cable pulling equipmentTrack and communicate daily production and materialsOversee and coordinate logistics and crew assignmentsTrain and lead new workers on day-to-day work practices and proceduresPerform other related duties as assignedWorking Conditions:
Work is performed in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions. Able to perform the physical tasks required in this position for the entire assigned shift. Some exposure to odors, gases, dust and dirt may occur. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
Lifting and carrying of 50 to 60 lbs. frequently is required. Job requires standing, walking, and sitting, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling. May spend long periods of time driving and/or riding in line construction vehicles to reach remote areas of the service territory.

Qualifications:
1+ years of experience directly related experience, working as an Aerial LinemanAbility to climb utility poles using climbing spikes and rigging, and experience operating and performing work in a bucket truck and/or other types of man-liftsCombination of work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification or education programWorking knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to related construction processesProficient in new build and pole transfers; knowledge in building strand, lashing, pole transfers & groundingSolid understanding of current construction practices and proficient knowledge of construction documentsProven ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budgetAbility to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret stakeholders’ needs, and identify solutionsAbility to perform physically demanding tasks as needed; must be capable to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basisExperience working with little supervision, while adding to a safe and positive team environment is a must; follows safety policies and procedures and wears the required personal protective equipment required for the jobComfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet) and able to perform work on uneven surfaces; experienced with climbing ladders, on/off equipment and work from various heightsMust have and maintain a valid state driver's license, appropriate to the requirements of the vehicle being driven, and a clear driver’s abstractSuccessful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements and background checkMay require travel within the state of Texas What You'll GetAs a Quanta Services employee, you'll be offered a wide range of benefits to fit your needs.
