About this Role TheAerial Ground Handposition is responsible for assisting in large scale installations of CATV aerial and underground infrastructure as well as installation of residential/commercial cable, internet, and phone. What You'll Do Key Responsibilities: + Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones. + Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. + Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. + Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities. + Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications. + Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed. + Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications. + Monitor pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment. + Erect or dismantle traffic barricades or other temporary structures for safety. + Lubricate and clean machinery, equipment, or tools. + Utilize machinery, such as a directional drill, shovels, hand tools, lashers, tamper tools, etc. + Perform other duties as required and/or assigned. Physical Requirements: + Tasks involve the intermittent performance of physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-80 pounds). + Intermittent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavier objects (80+ pounds) and getting in and out of a truck several times a day. + Standing or walking for extended periods of time. + Unload, carry, setup and climb ladders and/or be positioned in bucket trucks utilizing proper fall protection 100% of the time. + Work environment is outdoors and may expose worker to extreme heat/cold/wet conditions. What You'll Bring Requirements: + Building and Construction — Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in underground construction for CATV telecommunications systems. + Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. + Safety — Knowledge of relevant safety procedures in a construction setting.
