Job Description:

We are actively seeking Principal Aegis Systems Engineers to support current and future work on missile defense programs, with a focus on the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) system. This evergreen requisition is intended to identify and engage highly qualified candidates for recurring hiring needs in roles including: Senior Systems Engineers and Missile Software Engineers.

These engineers will contribute to system-level design, integration, analysis, and verification of Aegis BMD capabilities in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and related Navy programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Depending on role and assignment, responsibilities may include:

Senior Systems Engineers

Support system-level design, performance analysis, and end-to-end architecture development of Aegis BMD components

Conduct requirements decomposition, allocation, and traceability from system-level specifications to subsystem and software components

Perform risk assessments, interface control, and technical reviews across the engineering lifecycle

Coordinate with MDA/AB, MDA/DE, and Navy stakeholders to ensure alignment across BMDS elements

Missile Software Engineers

Support Aegis Weapon System software development, integration, and configuration management

Participate in analysis and review of software requirements, design, test procedures, and implementation in a missile defense context

Analyze missile software behavior during test events and contribute to software readiness assessments

Collaborate with developers and verification teams on functionality, interface consistency, and system behavior

Education & Experience:

Education: Master’s degree in a STEM field (Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics)

Experience: Minimum 12 years of experience in systems engineering or software engineering, with a focus on missile defense, naval combat systems, or related defense programs

Additional Requirements:

Active Secret security clearance required; TS/SCI preferred

U.S. Citizenship is required

Experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs or U.S. Navy Aegis Weapon System development

Proficient in systems engineering disciplines: requirements development, interface management, V&V, modeling/simulation, or MBSE

Working knowledge of tools such as DOORS, MagicDraw/Cameo, Rhapsody, or equivalent SE tools

Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps software practices is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Aegis BMD, C2BMC, THAAD, or GMD integration

Prior support of flight test planning (FTM/FTI), analysis, and system certification

Experience with software development environments (C++, Ada, Python), embedded systems, or real-time software

Familiarity with the MDA Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), and acquisition lifecycle

Minimum Clearance Required to Start:

Secret

Salary Range: $120,800.00 - $217,400.00
