Job DescriptionAECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 9-10, 2025. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026.
The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.
On Friday, interviews will take place at our Philadelphia office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.
We are looking for a candidate to work as part of our East Region Dams Practice located in our Conshohocken, PA office as an Entry Level Structural Dam Safety Engineer. This position will support a variety Dam Safety Engineering projects across the East Region. The successful candidate will join the ENR consistently ranked #1 Dams and Reservoirs firm and have access to exciting career advancement opportunities.
This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical support to dam project managers, including design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of dams.Perform dam analysis and design such as structural stability and strength analysis of concrete dams and appurtenant structures (spillways, outlet works, and other site civil structures).Prepare structural evaluation reports, drawings, and specifications for dam projects.Prepare structural details and drawings in AutoCAD.Conduct field observations and site visits for dam safety inspections and dam construction oversight.Progression toward greater responsibility, including task and project management and certification as a professional engineer.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.Must have a valid U.S driver’s license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.Preferred Qualifications:
Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam or ability to complete within 12-months of hire.Proven coursework and/or background in structural engineering including reinforced concrete design, statics, and mechanics of materials.Previous internship experience related to dams and hydraulic structures.Ability and desire to occasionally travel to project sites, both local and remote.Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills.Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility.Resourceful, highly organized professional with attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.Effective time-management and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Additional InformationRelocation assistance is not available for this position.About AECOM
