**Your role and responsibilities**
As a Delivery Consultant, you will work closely with IBM clients and partners to design, deliver, and optimize IBM Technology solutions that align with your clients' goals. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to ensure world-class delivery while leveraging your consultative skills such as problem-solving issue- / hypothesis-based methodologies, communication, and service orientation skills. Solving Client Challenges Effectively: Understanding clients' main challenges and developing solutions that helps them reach true business value by working thru the phases of design, development integration, implementation, migration and product support with a sense of urgency .
Agile Planning and Execution: Creating and executing agile plans where you are responsible for installing and provisioning assets, testing, migrating to production, and day-two operations.
Technical Solution Workshops: Conducting and participating in technical solution workshops.
Building Effective Relationships: Developing successful relationships at all levels —from engineers to CxOs—with experience of navigating challenging debate to reach healthy resolutions.
Self-Motivated Problem Solver: Demonstrating a natural bias towards self-motivation, curiosity, initiative in addition to navigating data and people to find answers and present solutions.
Collaboration and Communication: Strong collaboration and communication skills as you work across the client, partner, and IBM team.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in IBM Power Systems architecture, design, deployment, and optimization, preferably as a technical lead in enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in IBM Power servers (Power9, Power10) running AIX, IBM i, or Linux operating systems with advanced knowledge of PowerVM virtualization, LPAR configuration, and resource management.
• Strong proficiency in IBM Power infrastructure technologies including PowerHA SystemMirror for high availability, PowerVC for cloud management, HMC (Hardware Management Console) administration, and VIOS (Virtual I/O Server) configuration.
• Solid understanding of storage solutions for Power Systems including SAN/NAS integration, IBM FlashSystem, Spectrum Virtualize, and storage multipathing (MPIO, NPIV).
• Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent for infrastructure as code, along with scripting capabilities in Shell, Python, or Perl for system administration tasks.
• Functional expertise in performance tuning, capacity planning, system monitoring, backup and recovery strategies, and disaster recovery planning for mission-critical Power environments.
• Knowledge of containerization and modern application platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift on Power, and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with database management systems on Power platforms such as DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server, including installation, configuration, and performance optimization.
• Understanding of security best practices for Power Systems including SEA (Shared Ethernet Adapter) configuration, firewall rules, encryption, compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOX), and vulnerability management.
PRE-REQUISITES:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in projects related to IBM Power Systems technology, preferably as a technical lead.
• Industry knowledge in Banking, Telecommunications, Insurance, Retail, or Government sectors (desirable).
• Languages:
- Spanish: Native
- English: Intermediate to Advanced (required for client communication and technical documentation)
- Portuguese: Basic to Intermediate (desirable)
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
• Advanced certifications in IBM Power Systems such as IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert - Power Systems with AIX, IBM Certified Specialist - Power Systems, or equivalent vendor certifications.
• Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud architectures integrating IBM Power Systems with IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for Power environments, including integration with tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or IBM UrbanCode Deploy.
• Expertise in application modernization initiatives including migration from legacy systems to modern platforms, Java application deployment on Power, and integration with microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with IBM Spectrum Suite products (Spectrum Scale, Spectrum Protect, Spectrum Control) for advanced storage and data management.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as IBM Instana, Tivoli Monitoring, Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana for Power Systems environments.
• Knowledge of networking concepts including VLANs, load balancing, network virtualization (SDN), and integration with enterprise network infrastructure.
• Previous experience working in agile methodologies and leading technical teams in complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in production environments under pressure.
• Experience with competitive Power Systems alternatives (Oracle SPARC, HP Integrity) and ability to articulate IBM Power advantages in client engagements.
