Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Advisor for Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) to join our team in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. In this crucial role, you will provide expert guidance on SH&E matters, develop and implement comprehensive safety programs, and foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across our organization.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all SH&E-related matters, offering expert advice to management and staffDevelop, implement, and oversee comprehensive SH&E strategies and programs aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirementsConduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvementLead investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrenceCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SH&E best practices into all aspects of operationsDevelop and deliver SH&E training programs to enhance awareness and competency across the organizationStay updated on UAE and international SH&E regulations, standards, and best practices, ensuring organizational compliancePrepare and present detailed SH&E reports and recommendations to senior managementManage emergency response planning and crisis management initiativesLiaise with regulatory bodies and represent the organization in SH&E-related mattersProvide advisory services and consultative support to various departments on SH&E issuesDevelop and implement SH&E policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environmentQualificationsBachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related fieldNEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification (required for candidates with Engineering or related degrees)Minimum of 8 years of experience in a relevant SH&E fieldIn-depth knowledge of UAE and international SH&E legislative and regulatory obligationsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent risk assessment and mitigation skillsOutstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organizationProficiency in using relevant software and tools for SH&E management and reportingDemonstrated experience in conducting inspections, reporting issues, and following up on corrective actionsExpertise in emergency response planning and crisis managementFamiliarity with international SH&E standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001)Goal-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement in SH&E practicesHighly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesKnowledge of local UAE safety regulations and standardsAbility to adapt to cultural differences in a diverse work environmentStrong advisory and consultative skills, with the ability to provide expert guidance on SH&E mattersExperience in developing and delivering effective SH&E training programsProven track record in policy development and implementationWillingness to travel within Abu Dhabi and the UAE as required for site inspections and auditsAdditional InformationAbout AECOM
