Status: Full-Time Months Worked: 12 Month Job Summary: Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Advancement Operations and Systems, this position assists in the managing of financial transactions and updating/filing records and documents. The Advancement Gift Processing Specialist will be responsible for the data entry of gifts, preparing the bank deposit, and processing credit card gift transactions. In addition, the Advancement Gift Processing Specialist assists with researching discrepancies from Finance and the Advancement staff. This position receives general supervision from the Director of Advancement Operations and Systems concerning position objectives and desired results. An in-office presence is required 5 days per week, as well as discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information. Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree required with a concentration in finance or accounting preferred or equivalent work experience.2. A minimum of three years computer/data processing operations experience, including data entry, data reconciliation including financial accounting responsibilities, and experience with automated recording systems.3. Proficiency with computerized data management, spreadsheet, and word processing systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred.4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in carrying out responsibilities with minimal supervision.5. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively interact with constituencies at all levels.6. Willingness to work beyond traditional hours as needed. Requires flexibility in work schedule to meet occasional demands of peak workloads and availability to work between Christmas and New Year’s holidays and during campaign giving day challenges.7. Must be detailed oriented and maintain consistent high standards of accuracy and efficiency.8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work accurately with financial records and codes.9. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
