What's in it for you:
This is a full-time summer internship with Trane Technologies - La Crosse WI, beginning in May 2026 and ending in August 2026 (some flexibility is possible based on the candidate's schedule). The assignment is intended to provide an opportunity to experience HVAC systems engineering design activities and responsibilities while contributing to business goals. Scope of activities will be based on candidate's demonstrated abilities, with the intent to provide an appropriate level of benefit to the business and to the individual’s educational experience.
What you will do:
Assist Engineers in the day-to-day tasks of design and development of rooftop units.Assist in the selection and procurement of parts.Assist in the unit build and testPerform data analysis and model creation suitable for use in a building model.
What you will bring:
Working towards a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering program or similar.Overall GPA 3.5 or aboveStrong background in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, thermal systems, and building modelingKnowledge of programming languages such as C, Python, or MATLABExperience with modeling in platforms such as EES, and EnergyPlusGood communication skills.Demonstrated leadership skills (minimum of one example in the last four years such as: teaching, mentoring, work projects, etc.)Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:
