Job Title: Advanced Specialist, Sales, English Language Learning (East China)
Description: As an Advanced Specialist, Sales, you will drive institutional and international high school development for Pearson’s English Language Learning portfolio—especially the Pearson Test of English (PTE)—across East, Central, and West China. You will build senior-level relationships with key decision makers in institution and school settings; execute regional growth strategies; and collaborate with Pearson teams and external stakeholders to meet national goals. This is a field-based role that requires strong stakeholder management, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams.
About the Role: This role focuses on institutional sales and partnerships (B2B with B2B2C influence) to expand PTE awareness, adoption, and test volume through schools and higher education providers. You will lead territory planning, school outreach, promotional activities, and participation in education fairs and school events, positioning Pearson as a trusted partner in international education.

Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
Develop and execute comprehensive B2B sales strategies to grow PTE and related ELL solutions across China.Map and manage institutional and school accounts; build a healthy pipeline and convert new business.Conduct regular institutional and school visits; deliver persuasive presentations and product demonstrations to target audiences.Host promotional events; participate in education fairs, school events, and industry activities to increase brand awareness and demand generation.Identify and pursue new market segments and revenue opportunities through research, prospecting, and territory planning.Negotiate and close agreements to achieve regional targets, ensuring alignment with national goals.Stakeholder and Partner Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at international high schools, universities, and vocational education providers.Engage stakeholders at senior levels, understand institutional needs, and align Pearson solutions to drive adoption and advocacy.Strategic Planning, Market Intelligence, and Reporting
Research market trends, competitive activity, and customer insights to inform strategy and guide prioritization.Maintain accurate CRM records (e.g., Salesforce), including leads, opportunities, activities, and forecasts to ensure reporting quality and pipeline visibility.Monitor performance against plan; provide timely sales reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.Stay current on assessment and international education trends; act as a trusted advisor on PTE and Pearson’s ELL portfolio.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with peers to execute integrated regional strategies that support national objectives.Coordinate internal and external resources for events, training, and account enablement; ensure effective execution and follow-through.Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree required (preferred in business, marketing, or education; TESOL/ELT is a plus).At least 5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or institutional relations within international education, English language assessment, or higher education.Proven record of B2B sales and stakeholder relationship development with universities or high schools.Deep understanding of English language learning ecosystem and the study aboard market.Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills; consultative selling mindset with commercial acumen.Independent, proactive, and highly organized, with excellent time management.Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with CRM tools.Fluent in both English and Mandarin.Based in Shanghai; frequent domestic travel is required.Reports to the Team Manager, Sales, English Language Learning.Benefits
