Advanced Software Test Engineer
**In this role, you have the opportunity to** Join the platform team to design, develop, and maintain automated BDD test solutions that ensure product quality and reliability. In this role you will work with cross-functional R&D teams at Philips in Shanghai/Suzhou and globally to implement and scale BDD test frameworks based on Python behave and .NET-based BDD tools. **You are responsible for** + Design and implement automated BDD test suites using Python behave and .NET BDD frameworks (e.g., SpecFlow). + Translate product requirements and user stories into clear, maintainable feature files and step definitions. + Integrate BDD tests with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and ensure reliable test execution in test environments. + Develop and maintain reusable test libraries, fixtures, mocks, and test utilities to support both API and end-to-end testing. + Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA to define acceptance criteria and ensure feature-level traceability. + Participate in code reviews, enforce test code quality, and promote best practices for test automation and testability. + Troubleshoot test failures, analyze root causes, and work with the team to remediate defects. + Ensure test documentation is current, including test plans, runbooks, and environment setup guides. + Coach and mentor team members on BDD practices and automated testing approaches. **To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience** **Minimum Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree or above in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline. + 3+ years of experience in software testing or test automation development. + Practical experience with BDD frameworks: Python behave and .NET BDD frameworks (e.g., SpecFlow/Behave). + Solid programming skills in Python and familiarity with C#/.NET. + Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub/GitLab). **Desired Qualifications:** + Experience in the medical device industry or with regulated software development. + Familiarity with testing Kubernetes-based applications and common observability tools (e.g., Controller, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry). + Experience testing virtualization platforms such as KubeVirt is a plus. + Experience with test environment orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and managing test data. + Familiarity with test reporting and analytics tools. + Experience building automation workflows and test pipelines in GitHub/GitLab. + Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills. **Skills:** + Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to drive quality and delivery. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Chinese skills are a plus. + Strong attention to detail, ownership, and the ability to work independently. + Coaching, collaboration, and influence skills to uplift team testing capabilities. **Why should you join Philips?** Working at Philips is more than a job.
