Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Advanced Programs Lead Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
This Advanced Programs position will be a lead technical authority for all aspects of systems engineering within a rapid development program, leading a multi-disciplined team, guiding the technical performance of the program, providing support to program management in meeting technical performance requirements, staffing, cost, and schedule requirements. Coordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities. Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the rapid development, prototype production, and developmental test activities and is compliant with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company. Continually coordinates with advanced programs leadership team to ensure the execution of program statement of work. Serves as the primary program technical customer interface and some travel will be required. The Advanced Programs Lead Engineer is expected to work collaboratively and with influence to gain commitment and performance from all team disciplines, program customers, business operations and contracts as needed to drive required business outcomes. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, planning, and communication skills and possess experience in technical management.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with a minimum 16 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree
• 10 years experience providing technical leadership of an engineering team or teams
• 5 years experience detailed design and engineering and manufacturing development
• 3 years experience with DoD weapon systems technology
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• A minimum 14 years of related experience with a Masters’s degree
• Active Top Secret DoD Security Clearance with a periodic reinvestigation closed within last five years
• Excellent technical leadership, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills with both internal staff and external customers and partners
• Strong partnership/collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to partner cross-IPT/cross-discipline within a team
• Strong program execution skills; Demonstrated ability to meet program technical, cost, and schedule milestones.
• Ability to integrate, engage, and lead team to perform at top level of performance.
• Ability to leverage experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to the team
• Experience with technology needs identification, categorization/assessment, application, and maturation including TRL and MRL definitions
• Experience with rapid prototyping and demonstration
• Experience with hypersonics and hypersonic environments
