Short Description

JOB DESCRIPTION - ADVANCED PRACTICED PROVIDER (APP) - Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery
 
Assists the supervising surgeon in the management of patients and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of the surgeon. Work closely with the surgeon provides quality care in cardiac surgery to cover ICU, stepdown in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff and other members of the care team within scope of an APN/PA and office hours.
 
The Advanced Practice Provider - APP (Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant) assumes responsibility for providing advanced medical care practice within a clinical specialty and the scope of education.

 

In consultation with other members of the health care team, strengthens advanced medical care practice and promotes positive patient outcomes.

 

Responsibilities include clinical practice, staff and patient education, and research.

 

The Advanced Practice Provide serves as a significant member of the multidisciplinary health care team in the inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.

Education Requirements

Master's in Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

License/Certification Requirements

New Jersey license for Advanced Nurse Practitioner & Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant
*For Nurse practitioners, must be acute care certified; PA NCCPA
