Overview: 

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Oncology is a member of a collaborative team who is responsible for providing care to a diverse population of patients seeking oncology services. Performs a variety of functions including assessment, diagnosis, and intervention within their scope of practice. Drives ongoing communication and works to promote quality of care through collaboration with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other care team members, patients and families. Demonstrates service excellence and accountability through recognizing the direct relationship between cost-effective and efficient provision of care and services including the impact of access to care.Participates in quality improvement initiatives, research efforts, and professional development activities.Serves as a resource for staff education and supports the development of oncology care standards and protocols.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing with Acute Care specialty or Physician AssistantLicensure/ Certification: American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLSLicensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics.Illinois Registered Nurse License, Illinois Advanced Practice Nurse License, and Acute Care CertificationIllinois Physician Assistant License (if applicable)Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Experience: Oncology Experience Licensure/ Certification: Oncology Nursing Certification
