Job Overview

The Advanced Practice Nurse will deliver healthcare in the critical care settings to include but not limited to the recognition and management of common, critical illnesses and injuries and the provisioning of care across the healthcare continuum with emphasis on early detection treatment and prevention of diseases.

Job Qualifications

Valid license certificate as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of NJ requiredCurrent New Jersey Nurse Practitioner license requiredCurrent New Jersey Registered Nurse license requiredCurrent DEA CDS ACLS and BLS licenses requiredScheduling RequirementsFull time 40 hours

Essential Functions

Obtains and records patient historyPerforms physical and medical screening examinationsCompletes diagnostic and therapeutic studiesOrders diagnostic laboratory tests radiological studies or other therapies as appropriateEstablishes diagnostic decision making and initiates a treatment plan which may include ordering medications additional therapeutic modalities etcCoordinates patient care with other members of the health care teamInitiates consultation requests to other health professionals to provide more comprehensive patient managementInstructs and counsels patients regarding mental and physical health referring patients to appropriate specialists resourcesCompletes charting in a thorough and timely mannerPerforms procedures as allowed by state law and under the direction of the supervising or collaborating physicianWorks within legal regulatory and ethical practice standardsActively participates in department staff meetings and risk management educationCompletes required courses ie HIPAA EMTALA and other CME CEU requirementsOther duties as assigned including but not limited to academic lectures and or quality improvement projects
