Job Description

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering General Assembly Feasibility Specialist will be responsible for leading GA manufacturing activities for new model and MCA programs, including providing direction to manufacturing simulation engineers, communicating issues to Product Engineering, proposing alternative solutions and driving all issues to closure.

The responsibility includes developing Design to Manufacturing proposals to optimize Capex, support future Plant Loading studies, develop and lead Vertical Integration for Make/Buy alignment, develop detailed Process Maps with Pre-Scroll, ensure Feasibility studies are performed in the Plant Environment, lead Change Management meetings to ensure product process and tooling are aligned, manage General Assembly KPI'S. The GA Feasibility Specialist will make sure the Design to Manufacturing and Feasibility requirements are implemented in the Product Design.

The GA Feasibility Specialist will develop high visibility weekly updates to OEMS's management. Duties may also include some travel to assembly plants to support early phases of vehicle launches relative to manufacturing feasibility issues.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.5+ years of manufacturing experience, with knowledge of manufacturing and plant operations.Strong knowledge of GA manufacturing processes and toolingExperience with design tools such as NX, Catia, AutoCAD, and also with the use of Teamcenter.Strong written and verbal communications skillsExtremely proficient with Microsoft Office PowerPoint and ExcelStrong organizational/project management skillsStrong knowledge of DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly)Self-motivated and able to successfully achieve results under time pressureAbility to work with all levels of management while establishing and maintaining lines of communicationSuperior teamwork and leadership skills required as well as the ability to handle multiple projects
