**Job Description Summary**
The "Civil Platforms Systems Lab Manager" will provide leadership and oversight for the management and readiness of multiple integrated systems labs supporting Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) systems development. This individual will ensure labs are maintained in a high state of readiness to support development, integration, requirement validation, and formal verification activities. The role involves proactive planning, coordination, and execution to meet program milestones while maintaining the highest levels of quality of our lab related activities. The Lab Manager will report to the Civil Platforms Verification Technical Manager.
This opportunity is a hands-on role involving avionics hardware and software, also requiring familiarity with PC peripherals and internal computer components (e.g., HD, RAM, etc…). The ideal candidate should be skilled in using basic hand and power tools for equipment replacement and managing hardware obsolescence. Additionally, during periods of reduced lab management responsibilities, the role transitions to systems engineering tasks, primarily focused on verification and validation activities, such as test procedure creation and execution.

**Job Description**
**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Implement and sustain a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) process to ensure the readiness and reliability of Civil Platforms labs, including CHATR1, CHATR2, CPTR1, CPTR2, CPTR3, PDIF, and Qual Hardware support equipment across US and Mexico sites. This includes:
+ Ensuring labs meet Test Readiness Review (TRR) requirements, minimizing delays and cost growth.
+ Developing and executing proactive calibration plans and maintenance schedules for test equipment.
+ Coordinating lab configuration management to support overlapping projects, including 777-9 8 GPM, 11 GPM, 777-8F, 787 baseline, 787 EDE/PBIT, and 787 300c.
+ Coordinating unit repairs, component purchasing, and new equipment orders.
+ Managing lab obsolescence.
+ Lead lab 5S initiatives to maintain organization and efficiency.
+ Facilitate DQA lab conformity witnessing and ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to address lab-related issues and support verification activities.
+ Using Lean Principles (GE’s “Flight Deck” Principles), foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within lab operations.
+ Support the development of additional labs, including customer and hosted function supplier labs.
+ Support product development teams with lab definition updates.
+ Develop and maintain standard work for lab management activities in coordination with onsite lab support team members (Technicians or site-specific lab managers).
+ Develop and maintain standard work for users of the various labs with assistance from the Civil platform technical team.
+ Perform systems engineering verification activities primarily related to test verification and validation
+ Troubleshoot and resolve system integration/verification issues.
+ Develop and execute test cases and procedures to verify the system under test.
+ Develop and execute systems verification plans in accordance with GE Aviation processes.
+ Ensure timely delivery of systems integrated validation/verification activities, and issue resolution.
+ Collaborate with project teams to manage the scheduled use of the lab test equipment across the portfolio of projects
+ Ensure lab equipment meets conformity configurations to support formal testing requirements
+ Proactively communicates lab status updates to project teams and leadership as appropriate
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
+ 6+ years of experience in Systems Engineering
+ Ability to Travel up to 15% of the time.
+ This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.
+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas.
**Desired Characteristics**
+ Knowledge of calibration, test equipment maintenance, and lab configuration management.
+ Strong organizational and project management skills.
+ Ability to operate in a fast-paced, complex environment with multiple overlapping projects.
