The Advanced Automation Specialist for Cytiva is a highly skilled Automation Technology Expert with deep knowledge of industrial automation and pharmaceutical compliance to provide customized hardware solutions for biopharmaceutical manufacturing plants.

This position is part of the Workflow team in BP Modality located in Shanghai , will work closely with region sales team to offer expert consultation (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, DCS, MES), solution design, and training in Mab/AXC/Vaccine/rProtein/Plasma etc. to enhance hardware solution selling capability.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Assist commercial team in identifying customer opportunities and needs, determine technical feasibility of custom technical requests.Present and discuss the hardware solutions and benefits and provide technical support at the early stage of sales process to drive funnels and orders.Lead technical discussions with clients, addressing automation hardware concerns.Analyze customers’ automation needs (e.g., process control, data acquisition, compliance validation) and design tailored hardware solutions.Work closely with sales, modality, R&D, and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution from requirement analysis to delivery.Monitor industry trends (e.g., continuous manufacturing, digital factories) and provide feedback to R&D for product enhancement.Establish strong relationships with clients, including executive level, project champions, and key end-users.Deliver training for internal teams to align all automation strategies and selling tools. Work with the marketing team to deliver presentations in the market to enhance our branding segment.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Master and/or bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or related fields.5+ years in industrial automation, with exposure to biopharma production processes (e.g., fermentation, purification, filling) and key equipment (bioreactors, chromatography systems, filtration systems, CIP/SIP systems).Expertise in at least one of the following: PLCs (Siemens/Rockwell etc.), SCADA systems, industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus).Ability to interface with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solutions-based sales approach.Strong presentation skills and Able to travel.
