Advanced Analytics Program Manager

You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world. **A Day in the Life** As part of the Medtronic Data Analytics and Insights (DA&I) team that supports Global Operations and Supply Chain, this program manager role plays a critical part by acting as the scrum master for data analytics teams (called squads) to drive execution or work and adherence to processes and by leading projects related to operational effectiveness/process improvements for the broader DA&I team. This is a dynamic role that combines the responsibilities of a program manager with the expertise and skills of a scrum master. The role involves collaborating with data teams, facilitating communication, addressing challenges, and driving continuous improvements. **MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES** (may include the following and other duties may be assigned): • Develops, inspects, mines, transforms, and models data to raise productivity, improve decision making, and gain competitive advantage. • Conducts statistical analysis on data and information to ensure correct predictive forecasting or classification. • Manages all aspects of end-to-end data processing utilizing customized report building functions of systems. • Maintains analytical systems, verifies the accuracy of the data, and acts as a liaison to the business. • Responsible for reporting complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) • Serve as the Scrum Master for data analytics teams, fostering collaboration and empowerment (approx. 60% of time will be in scrum master activities). • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. • Collaborate with SME/product owners, data engineers, and analysts to support the prioritization and execution of work for data analytics initiatives. • Oversee multiple Squads (project/product team), ensuring alignment with overall Sprint goals. • Strong proficiency in Azure DevOps platform. In-depth knowledge on Boards and working understanding on Repos, Pipeline, Artifacts and Test Plans. • Apply Agile principles and Scrum practices tailored to the data analytics concepts and adherence to existing processes. • Define program objectives, scope, and success criteria related to data analytics initiatives and operational effectiveness. • Identify opportunities to improve data analytics processes, tools, and methodologies focusing on how to make work easier for the broader team through process improvements and automation. • Create, manage and communicate project plans, timelines, status, milestones, and risks/mitigations. • Advocate for best practices in data analysis, data management, and data visualization. • Collaborate and seek feedback from the broader team to identify areas of opportunities. • Partner and support rollout of process improvement strategies. **CAREER STREAM:** Program Managers and Directors focus on tactical, operational activities for a major program with broad or ongoing impact. Levels within the program management career stream typically accomplish program objectives through matrixed employee teams and / or vendors who are not direct reports but for which the incumbent has direct accountability to lead. The majority of time is spent overseeing their area of responsibility, managing program/team performance, communicating project and operational developments, planning, prioritizing and / or directing the responsibilities of program team members. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of program team members. **DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS:** Autonomy: Manages one or more small-scale, developed or mature programs with well-defined program plans and delivery methodologies. Is accountable for overall program process, performance, and customer satisfaction. Organizational Impact: Provides input to establishing program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets. Recommends new policies and procedures that affect program management. May have budget accountability for one or more programs. Program decisions are generally made only after consultation with higher level management. Innovation and Complexity: Problems faced are difficult, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem. Problems typically impact multiple workstreams, departments or specialties. Modifies programs management processes to improve program. Communication and Influence: Communicates and leads meetings with internal and external customers and vendors, conducts briefings to higher level management team. Solves issues through information exchange, influence and active persuasion without direct exercise of command to gain cooperation of other parties on program execution plans. Leadership and Talent Management: Leads, directs and reviews the work of a team of professionals and/or vendors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Direct involvement in daily tasks necessary for successful program execution. Not directly responsible for hire or fire decisions and people management. Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one job area. Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
